Day something

Days going by without me updating the blog.

Its the placement of the app on the fone. Fixing it!

Mira's a bit not well nowadays. She has a cold and a cough. 

I feel still very much connected with her physically. She sneezes and my heart sinks. She coughs and my chest hurts. I want to beat up whoever gave her the cold. :) hehe, yeah I am a crazy person.

 

Day 5

Missing a few blogging days. Seems I need an alarm to remind me. 

Mira has been talking all day everyday the last week. She says the cutest things in a language unknown. She makes it sound so real :) 

My sweetypie is going to talk soon. Aint that something? When she wasnt speaking it was immense fun, imagine what it woud be like when she actually starts making sense! Cant wait!!

Mira, my love, we are eagerly waiting for your first sentence.

Day 4

Mira turns 1.5 yrs today. Waiting for Ankur and the cake. Ecstatic. 

Day 3

Mira always gives Ankur a lot of kisses. And she calls him papa too. I get huge smiles, laughs, hugs and bites for kisses. She doesn't yet say mumma but then she looks at me with the greatest love in her eyes. 

She makes my day, everyday. 

Day 2

One of the most wonderful things abt the name Mira is it fits into songs and rhymes so easily. 

I sing Mira has a little lamb to her every night and somehow she likes a personalized song and sleeps well. 

Then there is itsy bitsy Mira who went up the water spout. 

I have always wanted to be a story teller to my children. But I really am bad at it. Anyone has any bright ideas on where I can find good short stories to tell kids which ai can read during the day and tell her at night?

Today is cooking day. One of the very recent changes in me has been the love for cooking. I do not do it often but I do it when I can. One of my next gifts to myself will be a proper oven. I big one so I can cook multiple things at the same time. 

As a mother, my deep desire is that my daughter be very proud of me. As a friend, as a playmate, as a cook, as an exercise partner, basically as an all-in-one. :) too much of a plan, right :) haha I know. I love making large, impossible plans :)

Day 1

 Mira is about to turn 18 months in 4 days. Let me first introduce her to you. She is my very sweet little daughter who I love more than anything in the world. Here is a pic so you can picture her in the stories ahead:

I am thinking of capturing my child's life, day after day, in this blog. I never keep up with anything regular.  So, no promises. 

Mira started an ABCD puzzle today. 

She is very little for this but loves puzzles so I thought let me see what she does. 

Guess what! She knows O and Q. She knows they Q doesn't fit into O however hard she tries. Now, for me, this is huge. A tiny little baby learnt O and Q on her first day. When I was pregnant, I was determined not to force my child to be smart all the time, to be ahead of others all the time, and all that jazz. But looking at her performance today, can you blame me for thinking otherwise!!?

Mira always calls me papa! with great enthusiasm. But I kinda think she is teasing me. Because today she, out of nowhere, said "mumma". She said it with a twinkle in her eye and a smile right after when she saw my immense happiness. I think she knows what it means to me. So says it rarely, and keeps me waiting :) 

I wouldn't settle for any other combination of DNAs but hers. She is just perfect. She has Ankur's love for perfection, she has my feistiness, she has her own brand of immense charm, and a one-in-a-gazillion laugh. 

Now off to put her to sleep. Have a good night, all. 

Anxiety

Calling the human species more evolved seems right anthropologically, but when it comes to blissful living we are far behind, maybe the worst. The fact that are brains are over grown harms
us in several ways. We are able to complicate the simplest of scenarios to our disadvantage and then create entire careers around trying to manage those complexities. Take psychiatry. Ever heard any other species requiring help? Of course we have made dogs so much man's friend that dogs have now started getting depressed when we are not around.

We have created our own version of the Matrix, just that ours is much more sophisticated in the sense that we have created artificial programs in the real world, much more difficult to unplug from.

I envy Neo.
